Welcome to our website.  Our pages are still developing so check back often to see what's new.

Skallebo Farm produces well bred athletic prospects for the Olympic Disciplines.  Our breeding goal is to produce a "dressage horse that can jump with the temperament for amateur competitors".  In other words a nice all-round athletic horse with a sensible and workable mind.  Stallions are researched and selected to complement an individual mare both on genotype and phenotype to increase the chances for the type of horse we want to produce.

Skallebo tries to maintain an eco-friendly farm.  Some practices that employed to help protect and conserve out environment include composting manure and spreading on the pasture and gardens, riparian exclusion fencing to prevent livestock from accessing Campbell Creek (which supports trout above the falls and salmon below), weed control through pulling, cutting or vinegar (an effective herbicide) application and irrigation monitoring/scheduling to maximize the benefit from the available water for both people, livestock, and the environment.  The riparian exclusion fencing was undertaken in partnership with our neighbours Blackcomb Belgian Tuerveran and Ducks Unlimited Canada.

Skallebo also has a few sheep to assist in rotational grazing to control weeds - as well as have something for the freezer and to knit with.

Please enjoy your visit through our site.
